Dj Short's Blueberry (Purple Thai × Highland Thai × Afghani) is the legendary cultivar that put berry-forward cannabis on the map. Bred by renowned cannabis pioneer DJ Short through years of meticulous selection and stabilization, Blueberry became one of the most influential strains of all time, winning the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2000 and serving as the foundation for countless modern "Blue" varieties. This classic indica-leaning hybrid is prized for its unmistakable aroma of fresh blueberries, sweet berries, wildflowers, and earthy spice. Depending on the phenotype, subtle notes of grape, vanilla, and sandalwood may emerge, creating a rich, old-school terpene profile that's become increasingly rare in today's market. The effects begin with a calm, euphoric lift that gently brightens the mood before settling into a deeply relaxing full-body experience. Blueberry is an excellent choice for slowing down after a long day, enjoying a quiet evening with friends, listening to music, or unwinding before bed without feeling immediately couch-locked. Few cultivars have had the lasting impact of DJ Short's Blueberry. Decades after its release, it remains a benchmark for flavor, breeding excellence, and timeless cannabis genetics—proof that careful selection and patience can create a truly legendary strain.
